Default Steering Wheel/ Key both LOCKED

Ok went outside this morning and key would not turn. Steering wheel is locked only moves about 1 inch either way. I have no idea how to get it unstuck. I checked all fuses and jacked the truck up in front and manually turned wheels. I rocked the truck back n forth. Nothing has worked. Is there a way to get this dumb thing started!! I need to get it moved ASAP!! Been out in the street for 3 hours and figured nothing out. Thanks guys

Your ignition switch is bad. Replace it.

I did the whole wheel turn and nothing. Turned it both ways and turned key at the same time. Still locked. And is there a certain way of telling if the ignition switch is bad?

Determining if an ignition switch is bad (to my knowledge), isnt like determining your tire is bad by all the bald spots and cracks in the sidewall. If that makes any sense at all...

Yea sort of ... I mean ... im looking on autozones website and im seeing ignition lock cylinder, ignition switch, ignition switch connector, an ignition switch kit ...trying to figure out my best option. I suppose if it works it works. autozone has a decent return policy.

That all sounds like the same thing to me as an ignition switch, just with different titles....If those are specific parts within the switch itself, i would say it would be easier just to replace the whole switch and not just a component of it..

With the exception of the connector, all that sounds like is just the wiring harness that would be attached to the switch itself...You will need to check the switch to your old switch to see what setup you have. Most have 3 wire wiring harness that is attached to the switch itself

Pull the wheel hard left and kinda pinch it with your laft arm and chest and with left hand pull the shifter to left and turn key with right hand, don't ask me how I know this///well OK my wife had the truck and couldn't get it to turn, had to drive the Tonka Toy/explorer sport/ 30 miles to get her, she parked with wheels turned hard. Anytime I park I grab the wheel and rock it back and forth to make sure no tention on it. The shifter is the key/ no pun intendid
