Default tranny/transfer case issue

I've got a 94 12v and it won't engage in gear. It has an nv4500 and an nv241. The transmission will not engage in 2HI or 4HI. It will engage in 4LOW and all of the gears work in 4LOW. Is this gonna be a transfer case problem?

i'd say transfer case because all gears are functioning. your transmission wouldn't care if your in 4low or not. gotta be the t-case

like he said it sounds like a t-case issue and it must be in the gear reduction part in the front of the t-case

I had a similar issue a couple of years ago. All it that had happened was one of the bolts that hold the transfer case handle had wiggled its way out and wedged itself to where i couldnt push the handle forward. Just pop off that rudder around the handle and double check. Hopefully thats all that happened.
