6.5 Dying
I just picked up a 1995 suburban diesel with a 6.5 turbo. The truck drove great and everything looked good on it so I bought it. On the ride home it lurched forward and the dropped a few rpm then just died. Then it started right back up, ran for a second and died. It would start hard then run and die or it would start easily and then run in die. Then I drove it for 45 mins with no problem and then it just died again.
Could it be bad fuel? I know the previous owner had it sitting for two months but I don't think the fuel could have gone bad so quickly. Maybe air in the line, or bad injecter pump? I put fuel additive in it hoping that might help. I'm not sure if it will ne fine now or keep doing the same thing. Any information or ideas would be a great help. Is there a way I can test the injector pump.
