Thanks for opening this back up, Johnny.
Happened again!!!!! Won't restart at all. Did I finally eat an IP? Fuel is supposed to spray out of the injector lines when you crack them, right? Fuel just dribbles out of 3, 4, and 5 when I crack them. 1 has no fuel. Does this sound like IP? I am 95% sure it is the IP, but I just need something concrete like that to spend the grand. Have not been able to check codes yet. It is sitting in the driveway now.

I have a remanned pump sitting here on the bench. The only problem is, I need a new mounting bracket. The bracket on there was the older model that's welded, and it broke. Anyone have the Cummins part number for the new bracket, and a place to get it?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Cummins Crosspoint has 9 of them. part number 3938707. I am on my way to get it. $55 later...

Did you try the lift pump first?

I have a FASS, and it has been only been on since April. Fuel pressure never drops below 13 psi.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Got the pump on with the new bracket. I bled the pump and lines, and it fired right up on the second crank. No codes, and it runs like a scalded dog. When I bled the lines using the lift pump there was quite a bit of fuel coming out of the lines, where there was not much more than a dribble with the old pump. So, I would say I diagnosed it properly, and I should not have any more trouble out of it. Thanks for all the help!

good deal man, glad to hear you got her fixed up. A wise man once told me, if your having a problem with a 24V, 9 times out of 10 its the VP.

I lied. It has thrown the code twice and not started. When it reused to start I let the lift pump stop running, then tried again, and it started fine. Now that the VP is eliminated, possibly for no reason, does anyone have any more ideas? I am pulling my hair out!

I cleaned the ECM and the block where it mounts, checked the plug and socket, and everything looked OK.

Yesterday morning I started it, it ran for a few seconds and died, and it started right back. It did not sputter or anything. Just died. I am going by a friend's house after work to scan the codes. I will post anything I find.
