Default 06 3500 megacab trans problem?

Been asking around everywhere to get help with my pickup trans problem. 2006 5.9, 3500 mega cab, automatic.
When coming to a stop, you can feel the converter lock up right before you come to a complete stop and stall the engine while you have your foot on the brake. Everything works and shifts fine going down the road, including the tow haul, overdrive and all shift points.
I replaced the lockup solenoids and a couple of pressure switches in the trans, and still does the same thing.
It's impossible to drive on icy roads, because the rear wheels don't want to stop! It did this a couple of months ago, and quit on its own. Then, out of the blue a few weeks ago, it started doing it again.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Default bad luck

Figures... I end up with a problem no one apparently has heard of before. Just my kind of luck

Not to sound blunt but have you called any tranny shops about it?

sounds to me like its a valvebody problem...something to do with the lockup solinoid

Default trans

I did call a tranny shop and they told me it sounded like either the converter or the lockup solenoid. I replaced the lockup solenoid and pressure switches and it still does the same thing. The reason I don't think it's the converter, is because it disengages when driving down the road and letting off the throttle like its supposed to. If the converter clutch was "stuck", one would think it would be stuck all the time.

ok then its sounding like a problem with the valve inside the valvebody that the fluid go's thru when the solenoid tells it to...sounds like it might be sticking open and keeping the convertor locked

Default valve body

Do you know what sensor, or sensors tell the PCM to activate the lockup solenoid? It feels like something is telling it to lockup, at about 5 mph and performs normally at highway speeds.

I agree with cummin un glued. Sounds like the piston in the valvebody is sticking open allowing it to stay locked

Default valve body

ok, I'll check into the valve body further. I appreciate the replies.

Thanks
