Default 01 cummins won't start

I have an 01 cummins that won't start unless you give it a little squirt of starting fluid then it will run fine and won't miss a lick what's wrong and the lift pump is working correctly ......injection pump?

are the grid heaters working correctly, what temp does it do this or all the time? need a little more info please

I have hade a grid heater delete on this truck for a couple of years but the problem has just started it does it at all temps cold/hot

my buddies 99 did this until he replaced the injection pump.

You say the uplift pump is working correctly.Did you crack line on injection pump to see if fuel comes out when key is first on or bumped?

do this....roll start it....if it will do that then its the injection pump most likly...sounds like the pump isnt making enough pressure at cranking speed to pop the injectors open...other possiblity what kind of lift pump do you have?.....if it is an airtex or a fass ddrp...that could also be the problem...could be that the lift pump is causing a over pressure hard start condition...where the ecm tells the injection pump not to pump...test this by turning the key on then unplug the lift pump then get back in the truck and try to start it....if it will start then that is the problem

I'm dumb guys ha ha the fuse in the tst was blown so I had no map sensor really
