Default 03 Duramax glow plug issues

Last Feb. I replaced glow plug controller,175 Amp fuse, and buss bar on driver's side glow plugs. Everything worked fine in the Wisconsin cold weather. A week ago (12-13-10), I
again had cold start problem. Found new buss bar I had installed last winter burned between back 2 glow plugs, removed it ,tested glow plugs -short to ground with continuity test light- and found none shorted. Installed new buss bar, turned ignition key to On, waited for light to go off-but noticed smoke from engine compartment- checked new buss bar-it was glowing orange and burned almost through at that same spot between left side back 2 glow plugs. Anyone out there have a clue as to what is going on? What's proper method of testing circuit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this still sounds like a short either in the glow plug, wiring, or buss bar itself.
