Dash not straight after heater core replacement
#11
Thats the problem every project has at least 1 extra part, yours is holdin the dash up Seriously though you must just have somthing holdin it up, maybe a harness or duct a little out of place. Gotta love that heater core job huh

Ok I found out what it was;
under the nuts that hold the steering column up there are some metal tabs that are part of the dash. the one on the left side of the column was bent up and holding the dash from being in proper position.
Whenever you drop the steering column and pull dash back, make sure that the tabs are all straight BEFORE you fasten the steering column to the dash.
On a side note; there are 5 bolts on the top of the dash just under the window. The middle bolt fastens directly to the steel firewall. The other 4 fasten to plastic inserts. All the plastic inserts pretty much degrade and are worthless. Dodge wants about 10.00 each for them. I didn't buy them but would have needed to if the center bolt did not go into the steel firewall.

I would buy and replace the plastic inserts, you're placing all the stress on the center screw and just daring your dash to crack. The plastic inserts have also been updated by Dodge so make sure if you order them that the dealer orders the updated one's.
