Default dana 70 ring and pionon install

im trying to put the pinon and new bearings back in my axle housing right now and i thought that the 33mm nut needed a ton of torque but if i tighten it up anymore than sung with the racket, i cant turn the pinion with my hand, how tight is that nut suppose to be? the bearings are new

i got it figured out, just had to set the preload on the bearings up right with shims, im going to put the limited slip and ring gear in today any pointers or tricks would be greatly appreciated

Total shimmage will give you the preload like you mention above. What side they are on along with pinion depth will give you the correct gear mesh.

You do have some gear marking compound to check that with, right?
