Arrow Help P0335 on 6.5 L

Hi,

I bought a Chevy Express van about 2 months ago. The van came from a police auction with fuel problems. Well that problem was a bad Pmd. I bought a new stanadyne and remote mounted it. For the last couple months the van ran good with an occasional slight hiccup. This vehicle shows 157,000 range.

Well now it runs ok then rough intermittently under load. Once you get up to speed it seems to be ok. It starts fine and idles fine. Today the cpu ses light finally came on and threw 2 codes both same P0335 Crank Pos sensor. Is this common to go bad or make this problem?

Also how bad is it to change looks like somewhat of a pain. I would take this to a the local diesel shop but mechanic is on vacation for a week and I need this van for business.

Any thoughts or comments?

I was barely able to sneak it around the power steering pump. That was the culprit, the wires going to the sensor were bare and about to fall apart. Someone changed the water pump and I believe they must have crashed something into it. Anyways this thread can be closed thanks,....
