Hey guys, I am a newbie, but this may help.
I have a 08 duramax 6.6 and I kept getting a 0087 code after several cracks at finding problem,Fuel regulator/fuel filter/return flow valve, we finally got it down to the fuel rail pump,and upon ordering one from a dealer,my mechanic recieved a call from his friend at the dealer and told him to read a bulletin that was issued by Chevy on July20th 2009, on code 0087. Stateing that there is a ceramic ball in pump that breaks apart and sends pieces into injectors and fuel rail,and the repair for this would be replace pump(900),replace injectors(6500),replace fuel rail(600),plus misc. seals and gaskets plus labor turns into about 12,500. I dont know about everyone else but with 144000 on my truck and a turbo installed at 71000, an ECM installed at about 25000 milesnad my check engine light continued to come on even after repairs,that maybe if there are enough of us with this problem they should try and work with us. I do not want to get rid of my truck,but to invest 12,500 more it does not make sense. I am faxing this bulletin to PPE out of California,i do not know if they check this site or not but maybe they could post the bulletin,I am not that computer savy to do it.
