Default Ts 6 position chip problem

I have a 97 ford powerstroke 7.3 and got a ts 6 position chip for it. We go to put it on and it runs great but after about a day the truck wont start on any of the positions. Then we take it out and the truck fires right up. Is this a bad tune in the chip or a problem in the computer of the truck??? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the PCM code is wrong... Glow Plugs are not lighting...

Or your contacts are not clean enough...

Who did you get it from?

Well we figure it could just need a good cleaning of the contacts too. And it came with the truck when in bought it off the guy back in october. So idk where it came from. And the glowplugs are definately firing. Its a super clean truck and only has 136k on it. Got mbrp 4 inch exhaust and k&n intake but thats it. Could the chip just need a reburn?

yeah when we bought the truck it wasnt in the truck and the guy who had it wasnt really book smart about it so he just said he took it off cuz the truck didnt work with it on. and we have tryed several times to get it to work but it shuts the truck down. so yeah its pretty much always done this.

Sounds like the dude didn't know what he was doin, at all.

So I'd bet you that chip isn't tuned for your PCM.

Your truck will like a reburn better than TS canned tunes anyway.

Tryin to think of who's a site sponsor here...

Matt @ Gearhead is probably the least expensive reburn, that I'd consider running in my truck. He has an excelent reputation and is doin some good things for the 7.3 community.

PHP and Beans would be a tie for the best tunes I've personally tried, and would vouch for.
