I have a 1995 6.5 turbo 1 ton. 1000-1700rpm or so tranny searches for the right gear,if i give it some throttle it clears up. When i reach 50mph or so it kicks it into limp mode. Full throttle acceleration, the truck coughs and sputters,shifts hard. Truck doesnt seem to have he power it should either. air pump is in sad shape. any suggestions?

 

hmmm have you changed the fuel filter also the 4l80 trannies are junk best of luck to you hope someone else will have mopre knowledge on your truck

 

Does the check engine light come on? Does it slip? What I am guessing is you have a electrical problem there is just to much of the truck being effected. Now weather it's just a voltage problem or ecm or something else is hard to say.

 

light only comes on under heavy acceleration then goes out
