okay installed two new batteries a couple of weeks ago. Truck sat ever since i installed batteries because i was changing out the freeze plugs. Today refilled with coolant and no leaks. Went to start the truck and not enough juice to turn over the truck. I used my wife's truck to jump start it. The wait for engine light came on / off as it supposed to. Tried to start it and it just clicked so i figured i would let it charge longer. After several attempts everything went out, no guages, no headlights, no radio. Its as if i removed the damn batteries. I checked out all the fuses under the dash and none were blown. Is there a fuse under the hood somewhere i missing. Man this truck is killing me..

It sounds like a good place to start is checking all your cable connections for corrosion or looseness. Putting a charger on the batteries for a while can't hurt anything either.

I know they are new, but have them load tested anyways. If 1 fails it will kill em both.

It is best for you to start a new thread for your problem. You will get responses specific to your problem that way. Giving more detail about when it does it and other symptoms like smoke etc . would help narrow it down.

Pull the batteries and have them load tested at the parts store. May as well pull your alternator and take it with you so they can test it too.

X2, I also learned from my old man to put axle grease on the terminals, sounds redneck as hell and probably is, but ive never had poor connection or corrosion build up...

Well the problem was the red wire that comes off the pos. side of battery going to the fender mounted solenoid. It had a bad end on it. So i resoldered it and it worked great. Now i have a engine that is hydrolocked or something. It pucked out oil and antifreeze out the intake so i'm not sure what the hell is going on now...Fix one problem - get two in return,,
