i need to know EXACTLY what and how you want to do this, so i can set you up. and if you want to incorporate it through the dodge stuff as well, im going to need the dodge wiring diagram too. i had to use alldata and buy both the chevy and dodge versions for mine so that i could get complete diagrams

I want the ignition to turn on when triggered at the ignition switch on the column, when the key is turned to ON, START function does NOT work.

I want the starter to engage on a 2 pole momentary switch, can't get any simpler than that.

And IF there is a clutch safety switch, I'd like to know how to incorporate it into the system because I still have the original Ford safety switch, and also how to wire it to be on all the time (system thinks clutch is in)

if you want the starter to engage just on a switch, all you need is a relay like an s55 borg warner relay and a toggle switch. then it wouldnt matter if the clutch was in or not. the second that starter gets power itll crank regardless of what gear its in. its not safe but its easy to do and will work.

if you want the clutch safety switch to act as if its on all the time, all you gotta do is cut off the connector, and splice the two wires together, completing the circuit.

does your ford column have a working ignition switch on it now? are you trying to incorporate dodge wiring with the ford column or what?

no kidding. i bet itll take me a full night to read all of these diagrams throroughly and type it all out as to how to splice it together. going to be a pain

The ignition switch on the column right now just turns on the ignition (illuminates gauges) when key is put in and turned to ON does not engage starter though when key is turned to START.

I want the starter to only turn on with a toggle (momentary switch).

well it depends. if you want everything working on a toggle like that it makes things much much much easier.

run your main big power wire to your starter. run a 16 or 18 gauge wire directly from you battery to the toggle switch, and then out of the switch go to the starter solenoid. as soon as you flip that switch our starter should spin. and then when you shut the switch off it should kill the starter. you really should use a relay and all that but if you want to keep the simplicity that will work for you.

is that all you wanted was the starter to engage? if you do it the way i just explained, a clutch switch and park neutral safety dont matter at all. because your just bypassing that. try wiring it how i explained and let me know if it works.

were there any other things you wanted or was that all you were after

Well the starter is the easy part really if I do it like that but I still need to figure out how to get power to the ignition to illuminate the gauges and will fire up the fuel pump.

Actually on the starter, I want to run the momentary switch, but thru the electronics, I just want to take the key out of the equation and basically be using the momentary switch to connect (hot wire) the two wires together to engage it, this way I don't have to run any extra wire. So if I really wanted to, I could just tap the two wires together under the dash, and turn it over. like they do in the movies lol

got ya thats what i needed to know. i need to knwo what wiring is coming from what. a rats nest like this is extremely hard to track stuff down like this given i have never even seen what your doing.

are you going from a complete dodge computer harness into the cab and trying to give juice from the ford ignition switch to the dodge computer? or do you have a ford electric fuel pump etc? its going to be very hard for me i have no idea what wire your using and where its going to and from.

is it a ford fuel pump? and i believe your using a dodge cluster right? are you just trying to light up the gauges or do you need to supply them with power as well?
