Well, Know please dont think im doubting your mechanical skills. sounds like your doing everything right to me. is it possiable to have thermaostat upside down. i dont even know if it can be done but its a thought. ? .

i looked it up on alldata just to triple check and its going in the right way. it cant even go in the opposite way otherwise it would hit the thermostat housing elbow so it can only go in one way

its a brand new waterpump. and when i take the thermostat out and open up the upper hose, it rockets water out of there. so i wouldnt think itd be the water pump

Just a thought . sometimes its the small things. you never know. wasnt tryin to call you dumb or anything. like mentioned. could the water pump be flowin enough?..Never mind sorry

the waterpumps in these are a 1 to 1 ratio. its just a shaft that the pulley spins. so unless its broken off, it really couldnt be bad

i thought that too but i dont think there is. theres a little flap valve in the thermostat at allows air and steam to pass.

but just to be sure i let it get all the air out without loosing all the coolant and putting the thermostat back in and the water was right there when i put it back together

Just a silly question, when you put the belt on any chance the water pump got routed wrong and is running backwards? ALso, do you have a laser temp gun? You could have a bad reference or sensor thats off a bit and its not getting hot enough to open the t stat even though the dash indicates its hot. Temp the thermostat housing while its warming up.
