Default Algae?

K so the other day my truck started to feel like it was losing power pulling on takeoff.Noticed my idle only at high idle had more of a lope to it. Went to stealership and asked them about it they said that this is a known problem with these CR's and that they are trying to find a fix. also said just to test my injectors it would costs me around $400. i quickly told him i have bought 4 vehicle from you in the last 2 yrs. i don't think i will be coming back here again. anyways long story short did some more talking to some guys and they think i could have algae in my tank since three guys in the last week have noticed the same thing. Do yall think this is possible since the midwest area here has been known for really bad fuel lately? or do yall just think i'm noticing a difference because im running winter fuel? also i replaced my fuel filter at 100,000 105,000 and now at 108,000 and they have all been really black and each time noticed lots of sediments(black gunk) in the bottom of the bowl. just want to catch it before i ruin an injector or something. any ideas or hints/advice is appreciated thanks in advance

I am not sure if it is algae or fungus but it sounds like you have growth in the tank. Get some additive to kill it and carry an extra filter or two with you. Plugged filters will do things like that to a diesel. Where a gas engine will just die with a bad filter a diesel will run bad and lose power. It is a cheep try compared to the alternative of taking it in somewhere.

still have not had a chance to do a deep scan but so far i have changed the filter again and my mileage has gone up a little bit and truck seems to be running smoother. I added that fuel algae conditioner and tomorrow we are going to drop the tank, do a real good clean job on it then install the new fass system as well
