Next step is to have the tranny pump checked with a pressure gauge to see if the pump is going out. From there, you'll need to find a shop who deals with those transmissions so they can better help you

Not sure how much an E4OD weighs compared to a 47RE, but I've pulled a 47RE out of a buddies truck about 4 times in his driveway. Just have a floor jack on a piece of plywood under it before you kick the crossmember outa there. Oh, and go ahead and pull the transfer case BEFORE you drop the trans.

As a student? If so, talk to your professor. If they don't know, they can send you to someone who does. 9 times out of 10, when I call a shop to ask for some quick advice on what way to turn, they will gladly answer it in a truthful manner, even if it doesn't give them a sale

What I told you to do was advice straight out of my automatic transmissions class.
