Default Need some help '04 dodge cummins 3500

ive got an 04 dodge cummins and recently ive been noticing quite a bit of popping in the front end when i turn and a little even when im just driving down the road. Ive checked ball/u joints and greased them and problem would seem to get a little better for a few days and then right back to the same problem.

Also, i used to be on another forum and wanted some other opinions. Same truck, if i have the truck in park and rev the truck the rpms stay up until it burns off the fuel. is there anything that i can do to stop that? it drives me crazy that i cant just rev it up in the parking lot or something without putting it into drive.
