Hopefully that's the case I guess. No the gauge doesn't budge.

If you have an ohmmeter you could take the sensor out and check the resistance while you heat it in a pot of boiling water to see if it is bad.

OK I took it for a 10 mile ride and the cooling system seems to be operating normally. The gauge however does still not work. I will test the sending unit tomorrow. I have a feeling its the gauge it self tho.

Before you test the sender just ground the sender wire and watch to see if the gauge moves.

Take the wire off the sender and see where the needle is on the gauge with the key on then ground the wire and the needle should go to the other extreme on the gauge. If it does then the problem has to be with the sender and if not it is time to check the gauge and wiring.
