have a 05 2500 4x4 that i put a new front band in from the bottom about 2 weeks ago and new gov sensor and regulator and everything was working fine until yesterday it started winding till it gets to about 20 mph then shifts hard to second. its throwing p1754 code which is tva motor. any suggestions before i change the motor. seems odd to work for 2 weeks then mess up if something was not put back right. i pulled tvm off and shaft doesn't seem to be bound. thanks ta

 

have you replaced the tva motor before?

 

125k never replaced anything till 2 weeks ago in this tranny

 

good chance that motor needs to be replaced then.

 

If you have a code for the TV motor then I would start there. If you happen to know someone else with an 05-07 5.9 auto, borrow theirs for a quick trip around the block. Our diagnostic equipment allows us to read actual sweep of the TV motor, but if you don't have access to that then a quick swap is the easiest way to test it. Hows the 2-3 shift? Sloppy? If so, try adjusting your front band again.
