first welcome to the site. maybe you can pop in to the introductions area and post a lil about yourself and the truck.

for your problem, by cutting off to you mean it shuts off or is it really lacking power???

i'd guess a serious fuel restriction if it's idling that rough and falling on its face under throttle. when's the last fuel filter change? did you clean the prefilter at the fuel heater?

what mods have you done on the truck??

DM, I just talked to him on the phone, he's at work, but he said he's got a fuel pressure tester somewhere and he's gonna check it out.

I rode in the truck the other night, and the thing is definitely sick. I suggested changing the fuel filter to so he's gonna try that. I saw him a little while ago and me and RSwords suggested he get on here and ask ya'll. Definitely more knowledge on here than me and RSwords. hehehe

just make sure he checks the screen (prefilter) in the base of the fuel heater if you're going to try some maintenance first. i cleaned mine and it made a world of difference and my truck only had 72K on it. i think that's where i'd start. maybe an overflow valve if the filter replacement and cleaning doesn't fix it.

I didn't even look at the idle the other night, but it doesn't have much power either.

Yeah that thing wouldn't pull a greased string out of a cats behind... Zack is saying his V10 super duty ran better than this truck! I have $$$ on the filter.

Would lowering the idle mess with mid range power?

no but it would make it lope when in gear and shutoff due to the idle being too low.
