Air Conditioner Compressor Problems

Air Conditioner Compressor Problems
Been listening to the truck squeel like a bearing was going bad for a while and couldn't figure out where it was comin from. Today I finally noticed that the pulley on the compressor would stop turning all together while the truck was runnin.
What's it take to fix this little problem, aside from a new belt to fit it bypassing the compressor, it's hot out. I sure don't want to burn the belt up and be stranded someplace but I need this truck to keep movin.

I am guessin they sell a belt to bypass the AC but not sure
then remove the compressor off the truck and do a new bearing eh

Can you replace just the bearing, and what does it take to disconnect the air condition lines to be able to pull it out. Never had to mess with the air conditioning stuff before eh.

On my truck, there is just a short belt on it that bypasses the A/C. The compressor is still mounted there, but is locked up tight. I figured one day I would get around to buying a compressor

I'm gonna try a new water pump first since this one has a few hundred thousand on it anyway. It's only $35 and takes 10 minutes to replace, along with a new belt just in case this one has stretched or somthin. I really don't want to mess with the compressor unless I find out that's it for sure cause lookin at it, it looks like a major PITA.
I tried usin a steel rod to listen to the parts to see if I could pinpoint the squeel but no luck. So I also picked up a cheap stethescope to see if it helps isolate it.

Unfortunatly you cant rebuild them and you have to replace the whole compressor. They aint cheap either, here is a link to autozone for the price. A/C compressor Here is the price at Napa. A/C compressor Here is one on Ebay. A/C compressor
