should have updates by monday night or tuesday.

sorry it is now sunday night haha.
but.. i have great news, but i dont totally understand it. so here's the story.
Monday night i start working doing glow plugs on this truck. driver side first because its easier, all gp's come out without a hitch and new go in perfect, wiring harness is new, all connectors are good with rubber gromets around the connectors.
wednesday night i start the passenger side, pull everything apart and remove all glow plugs except for the one in cylinder number 3. which apparently got soo crappy the soot and other **** kept it from coming out, so i spent the rest of the night with vice grips to remove it.
so i dont see the truck again until friday night. i throw the new plugs in and finish the job up (two hours after i should've been at my girlfriends place, need not to say she wasn't very happy). so i get everything together and the moment of truth comes, i turn the key on and wait for the "wait to start" light to go off. it stays on for about 10/15 seconds and i start cranking it over.
nothing....
so i go back and look for something i missed, but theres nothing...
try it again and still nothing.
so now im pretty pissed off and i call it a night.
so the next day i come back to it, thinking its gotta be something stupid. for haha's i try crossing the gp relay. hit the key and it fires right up.
which leads me to a new glow plug relay and the solution to the loping problem.
THE LOPE IS NOW GONE!

my buddy wouldnt buy an icp because it was something rediculous like $180. i didnt look into it yet but i will.
but the lope is gone, i guess it was because of cold cylinders but that doesnt totally make sense to me because it would do it after it would be running at temp too.
i mean for some reason the thing runs like its new from factory now, its great! the only thing is now he has a thermostat thats stuck open so it runs cold and the wastegate is constantly opening and closing to try to keep it warm.

That's the EBPV you're hearing closing to try to warm the truck up.
FYI, that means the oil is under 130*.
And that means that the PCM is advancing timing to maintain start of ignition at the same point. So if you're runnin a chip with a stuck open thermostat, you're runnin stupid advanced timing.

right the thing stays so cold its constantly opening and closing to try to warm up but it has no power until it opens, so it cant stay at the same throttle otherwise it wont go anywhere. stuck open thermostat would do that right? its a big pain the the a$$ when its 20* out like its been here in northwest ct for the past week.
the chip is no longer in the truck, its back to stock now.
mind you im only 17, im still learning about these little things.

im about to go nuts here.
ok i installed the new relay, the right way, new glow plugs, and all fuses are good. THE DAMN THING STILL WONT WARM THE GLOW PLUGS!!!!!!!
my shop teacher told me there might be a fuseable linke between the controller and the relay, i know the controller's working because the light comes on in the dash for the correct amount of time depending on how cold it is (which is about 20 degrees average here in ct now).

How are you diagnosing the glow plugs not warming? Hard starts?
And yes, a stuck open thermostat would cause the EBPV to go back and forth. What does the engine temp gauge say? If it says the truck is warm, and you still have trouble with the EBPV closing, just unplug it.
