Default 98 47re stuck in gear

I have had my 98 12v dodge for few years with zero issues. The the other day i hopped in it to run to town and it took off feeling weak. I realized when i got up to 55MPH it wasn't shifting. i pulled over and took off again there were no shifts at all. I tried to pull it all the way down into first to take off next time but it is still in an upper gear. I was wondering if anybody had any idea where to start. i tested the TPS already because i thought it just wasn't goin into lock up at first. I don't know much about these trannys and i haven't gotten any codes read. i have had trouble with the ABS light being on and sometimes the spedometer wouldn't work but it was so intermittant that never have tracked it down. That has been going on for months though.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated

Check your output speed sensor on the tranny.
Check for codes as well, as this will often throw a code.

Mine did the same thing when it went out, so did my dads 99.

Thanks guys when i get home i'll try to go from park straight to first and see what happens. Is there way to test the output speed sensor? Does it have a specified OHMS resistance?
