Default Noise from motor into turbo

We where putting in aset of guages and in trying to find a spot for the boost guage at the engine we removed this bolt... We didn't use this spot so we put the bolt back in. After we got done we started the engine and it sounded like something went through the engine and is now rattling in the Turbo... Any ideas? What is behind this bolt?

No, it's not in your turbo. The turbo is way before the airhorn intake. Anyways, that is your heater grid to heat up cold incoming air. That top one is the positive connector and the lower one is ground.

Are you still hearing that noise? Maybe part of the heater grid fell into the intake track and is bouncing around.

No it's in the turbo... Went all the way into and out of the engine... And there is a washer on the inside of the heater grid that will fall into the motor if you remove that bolt... We found the remander of it in the exhaust side of the turbo... Truck seems to be runnig fine now? :dunno:

It made it all the way throught the engine?! Last time I seen a washer drop into an engine, it chewed up the top of the piston and the head and bent a valve. In fact after the washer broke up, most of the peices were imbedded into the piston.

I think he will have problems down the road if he has to replace the headgasket. I think you will find a few suprises on a piston in there.

That's my thinkin too. Any body want to buy it? It's runnin good right now, I guess I'll c down the road. That has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever done, all comes down to one thing, just wasn't payin attention or thinkin very good. Oh well, I did learn somethin two things out of the deal, 1st one is don't take apart S$#@ if you don't know what it is. 2nd is, since I got my pyro hooked up, I've still got a good bit of fuel pump tweakin to do. Not even close to meltin her yet, If it blows, it blows, I'll go buy another one tomorrow.

You wont know until you have to pull the head, I saw what the nozzle tip off of an injector did to a 24v piston and it is soft metal. Hope you dont have any problems though.
