make sure the batteries are good...test the gpr,..then test the glow plugs one by one by unhooking the harness at the valve covers...dont have the info on here at work,..but someone will chime in soon...or post over in the ford area...prolly get a better response over there...

There are 2 ways to check the glow plugs. One is to check the resistance with an ohm meter and the other is to take a wire with an ampmeter in it to feed power to each one to check for curent drain. The 2 front and 2 rear wires in the harness are the glow plug wires. The 4 middle wires are the injector wires. I think the resistance reading should be about 2 ohms. If it reads a very high resistance it is open. Make sure that you have power coming fron the relay first. Is the truck using a lot of oil? If it is the o-rings on the injectors could be bad and that also makes it hard starting and blows white smoke.
