Truck wont start / low voltage / WTF
Ok so I bought my truck drove it a couple weeks, took it to the airport got back and it wouldnt start.
Figured tihs happens all the time i left a charger plugged in or something left something on... some how ran the battery down. Called airport assistance and they brought out a jump pack. Put it on the driver side batt and click click click click... well .... guy said lets put one on the other side too... so we did and boom fired right up....
drove the truck an hour and half stopped at truckstop to get some fuel shut it off filled up went to start and click click click click. Called AAA brought a set of cables... no luck... they brought a 2nd set for the other battery... still no luck had it towed home to a mechanic. He has one of those professional handheld batt testers. Batts test ok.. he said the cables were loose and that the inside on the poles was just solid black. Cleaned em up and everything worked ok. Well just got done letting it sit for like 4 days went out and click click click click. Cables some how came loose again so i took em off myself cleaned up poles on both sides, tightened, and still click click click. PUt the cables on from my other vehicle and still click click click... i kept playing with the jumper cables on the battery and noticed that even though there were sparks of a connection in the cab it wasnt reading the normal 14V from having cables run on it. So i played with it a bit jiggling and stuff and then all of a sudden boom volt meter goes up to 14 i turn it over and it starts right up... WTF IS GOIN ON.... IF batteries are bad why didnt it start with cables.... unless cables are bad... would that cause this?
sorry for bad english laptop battery is about to die and typing real fast

Leave the batteries unhooked (- cables), then load test them the next day. If they check out ok, clean all the terminals real good. Use a solution of baking soda and water and let em soak, or you can buy a can of terminal cleaner. Follow up with terminal protection. If one fails the test, found the culprit.
