i need help bad.i put a convertor ion my truck over the weekend and it worked fine before.all of the sudden it wouldn't lock up,it would shift into 4th though.now since i've been doin some testing it won't go into 4th and when you put it in drive it goes right to 3rd unless you pull it in 1st.my o.d.button doesn't work either now,this is my only vehichle,help!

 

i would say check your grounds, go over everything you took apart to put the converter in and make sure its all back together the same it came apart

 

is there any way to test ground with a meter?

 

If you put one probe on the engine block , tranny case or body and the other to the battery negative you should get a voltage of 0 if it reads more than 0 you have a bad ground somewhere. I think the shift solenoids have 12v to one side of them and are grounded through the PCM to activate them.
