Default 7.3 shut down while driving and will not start

Just had the cam sensor replaced, while driving today the motor shut down, no cel or anything. Truck has an edge programmer on it. Any helpful advise?

The first thing to check would be the oil level and the oil in the high pressure reservoir. here are two links that help in understanding the ford high pressure system. Trouble Shooter | Motor | Find Articles at BNET Diesel-Central.com the technical source for Diesel Truck information, Truck Pulling, and Drag Racing

Oil Pressure sensor in the back of the HPOP... That's my guess.

The oil that is in the truck has 3450 miles on the oil change and is due at teh 5k mark. The oil is in the operation level on the dipstick.

After the truck was towed to my shop, and i changed the cam sensor, i can see the rpms moving, and after a few sec, the oil pressure gauge show oil pressure. Is this reading the low pressure pump or the HPOP?

I will be check both the HPOP reservoir for oil and see if it is their and add and try to fire the motor again. Once again thank you both for the suggestions and links to guilds. I will let you know how it works out today.

i have checked the HPOP reservoir and the oil level was about a 1/2" from the top of the inspection port. I had a friend run a scan on the truck but their were not any codes.

It is the low pressure sensor but is actually threaded into the high pressure reservoir. Have you checked your fuel pressure yet? There might be a problem with the electric lift pump or relay.

high pressure oil pump went bad. Had it replaced and now i get code P0269 and code p0281. I know have a miss at idle, I know what the code is for, but do not know how to fix. The truck has new injectors install with in 10k miles ago, is it possible they are bad again?

Depending on the way the HPOP went bad it might have put debris into the system which could damage the injectors. Since you have codes for 2 cylinders with low power output I would pull those 2 injectors and have them tested.

It would have been wise to do that.
