Default Need Help my truck is crippled!!!

Last night I did a 3200 spring install on my 89 Cummins. Everything went good and we put it all back together, fired it up and it idled great. I let it sit there and idle for a few minutes and tried giving it some throttle and it cut off. I started it back up and it ran no problem, eased on the throttle and the rpms decrease until it cuts off. My throttle is working in reverse, the more throttle I give it the lower the rpms get until it wont run anymore. Any ideas or help would be appreciated, so far I and everybody else I know is baffled.

its in the VE pump, its the governor spring. i say you probably hooked the linkage up back wards or even got the idler arm upside down. the other option is that you put the spring in upside down, but im not sure that would matter much. double check your linkage. theres some good pics in the first gen section of what the linkage should be

I just got it fixed, not really sure how, but I took the throttle linkage back off the shaft and turned the shaft some, hooked it all back up and had a functioning throttle again but the idle was way low. Took it apart 4 or 5 more times just adjusting the shaft with the index marks and had it idling too low, too high, missing during both real bad, then hit the magic spot and it idled perfect where I could adjust it with the screw again and not missing anymore. Thanks for the help, I was baffled last night and this morning but got it worked out and wow its like a different truck.
