abs brake light with soft pedal
I am having an issue with my 97 dodge 12v where my abs brake light come on when I apply the brake. I can tap the pedal and it will shut off, though comes on again when I reapply the brake. Also has a soft pedal for about 3 inch push before it goes to norm resistance. I have read the closed forums and none of those solutions seem to be mine. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Basically, make sure the master cylinder is full of fluid, and if you find no leaks, try bleeding the system.
But.....You say you can push the pedal about 3" and then pedal goes to normal? That makes me think there is a good chance it is the master cylinder...

that much peddle travel could also be the rear brakes way out of adjustment or broken hardware or a front wheel bearing getting loose and allowing the rotor to push the piston too far into the caliper
