took it to a garage, they say the lift pump went out and took the injector pump along with it! They want $3200 to fix it

Sounds about right - these trucks MUST have a fuel pressure guage to monitor the health of the lift pump. If you dont catch the dead lift pump - its kills the injector pump - which tends to be quite $$$
