My first VP ran for a few thousand miles with no lp and even towed but it was weak in the tow dept. Now sayin this I also had to replace it at the end of that road also. I was another that didn't have a few hundred dollars to spend to save $2000. I speak from a lot of expensive learning. If your gonna have one a these trucks some things you have to make the money for or you won't have the truck long cause if you can't afford the quality lift pump you sure can't afford the injector pump it's gonna cost ya.
Sounds harsh but it's the hard cold facts of these trucks, they're not cheap.

I understand that. When I got the truck we were still doing ok at work. Hell I almost made 70k last year. Then everything fell apart. I am lucky to make 1500 a month now. IF this trashed economy picks up then I may be able to have fun w/ truck and be able to fix it.

Well i installed the new LP and its holding 12psi at load so i think im good. Started right up after 2 purge cycles. Runs good...
Still wonder, how much smoke ARE you supposed to see when you full throttle from a start to say 50mph? Stock truck.

You should see some black smoke until the turbo spools up. Once your turbo get's wound up the smoke is supposed to clear up. This means your usin all that fuel to make power instead of spittin it out the tailpipe lettin it go to waste. Black smoke is wasted fuel, not more power.
