Default Once again problems with new motor!!!

So got my new 5.9 in and after new injectors, new timing gear, weird whining noise out of the front end... now the damn thing started to blow blueish white smoke everytime in push on the throttle. it is just a big cloud of it too. I just had them change the oil after i had 1,500 and 3,000 on the motor and now it only has about 4,000 and i checked the oil and i'm about 2-3 quarts low and there is no oil spots anywhere to be found. also it starts hard every now and then but the dealer checked evrything also put new injection pump in it too. They said it may be because the motor has not been broken in yet??? i have pulled a lot with this and every week i pull close to 37,000 with it and i just can't believe the rings are not seated yet. I have had so many damn problems with this new motor that i'm about ready to get rid of the truck all together and buy something other than a Cummins. So any ideas or help would be appreciated. We have three other cummins and they all have over 100,000 and have never had a problem so i'm thinking lemon maybe????? give me some ideas please sorry such a long post too but extremely frustrated with this thing!!

The light colored smoke is generally an indicator of not enough fuel being delivered to the cylinders. Don't know enough to even begin to tell why on a Common Rail Truck though.

Right off the bat I would say why are ya complainin about this truck. It's 2500 series that your regularly pullin 37,000 pounds with. As I recall they are like 18,000 pound max tow weight rated. Not that they shouldn't do it but your workin this truck like a dog and probably should be lookin at a bigger version for safety sake if for no other reason.

If your pullin this load before you gave those rings a chance to get seated, you bet your burnin oil. Time for another rebuild if this is the case.

yeah the 37,000lbs is a lot of weight for a 1 ton much less a 3/4 ton, i don't know the break in time on a diesel but i'm assuming it's a good 1000+ miles before i'd go towing anything insane like that

Sorry the total weight of truck, trailer, and machine is roughly 37,000. The dealership and cummins, and dodge said that i would be fine pulling it and also i was told to drive it 500 miles then pull with it. The cummins guy said the rings should be set within 100 miles or so. I had the mechanic look at my load to and once again they said it would be fine to pull that. Sorry about not telling you guys it was total weight.

JESUS!!!!!!!!!! isn't that class A or B CDL area? i would take it back to the dealership...... they put it in so there has to be some sort of warranty on it..... why self diagnose if you paid for that service when you got the truck/motor etc....

Yeah we are required to have a class A no air brakes. I only pull this much about once a week, the rest of the time i have a 24' enclosed trailer for all of my tools, and a dump trailer that usually has a skidsteer in it. I have taken it to the dealer and they said "just drive it it will work itself out of it.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

So today i had a guy look at it and drive it and he said it may be a turbo issue? He said it is possible for the turbo to take oil if the seals are bad or if it is going out? He also said that it seemed like it was not spooling up like it should and i noticed that a little bit too, so is this maybe the case? And i also noticed my antifreeze was a little bit low too.

So got it in to dealer today and they think it is the turbo because the actual fan blades or whatever in it moved up and down so much that they actually grooved the sides of the metal. And they are going to cover it under warrenty too. They said that it probably was using oil because the bearing and gaskets are shot in the turbo as well? also they believe head gasket may be bad too. I hope this is it because so far this cummins has been nothing but a headache, hopefully it is just bad luck.
