Default HELP Please! 12V won't start

Well I had a problem a few weeks ago when I tried to start the truck cold and it ran for a minute then idled rough and shut down. It did restart and seem to run OK but it did this a few times so I have stayed close to home and it did it again this morning. I looked around this forumn and some others and decided that a fuel filter could be partially to blame so I just replaced the thing. Now it won't start at all. What could it be? I did find that the transfer pump had a cracked boot or bellows. I pumped the thing a few times and the dry rotted boot fell off. Can it run without it? Would this have something to do with it? I even refilled the fuel filter before I tried to start it. Could there be air in the lines? I've heard horror stories about folks being stranded after running out of fuel but is this the same issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated! I need the truck tomorrw...

Sounds like it's air locked. Loosen the fuel line at the injector pump, then turn the engine over a few times until fuel comes out. Tighten the line and turn it over a couple times, then crack an injector line. Tighten the line then repeat until fuel comes out the injector lines.

Most likely you have air in lines after fuel filter replacement.you will have to prime it good to start. as for transfer pump as long as it doesnt leak fuel or suck air it should be fine.
