hi guys my truck is stock now with just over 100k on it. i started getting hi pail presure codes,ticking loudly and missing. changed nozzles with stock tips runs smother no missing but sounds like an old cummins 400 big cam out of a peter built. also the turbo boost up and the egt's climb to 900+ before turbo and 450's after. please help!!!

did you pop test the injectors when you changed the tips?

 

do you have a fuel pressure gauge? you say 950+ preturbo and 450's after, do you have 2 EGT gauges or are you guestimating?

 

no I did not pop the inj. I do have two pyros though but no fuel press gauge

 

Any programmers or boxes for power addage??

 

its your injectors ! pull them out and have them pop tested , columbus diesel supply pop tests them im not sure where you are but you cant just change the tips and put them back in , ive done it before , truck loped real bad sounded like it had a major cam going on

 

When you step on the throttle the power falls off, but the icp increases to the high teens almost 20k, the turbo boosts 15 to 19 smokes slightly but no power. I unhooked tourqe dog and uninstalled triple dog but left the out look on

yep, I had the big cam sound before I changed the tips, but after I reinstalled them the idle smothed out but the engine got really loud

 

no matter whats going on you cannot just swap tips you have to have them pop tested , you have to take this into consideration when you buy tips to save $ you have to add the cost and time of having them pop tested

 

I'm in nc on the east side i'll try to find a shop to test them for me. thanks for the info
