i have a 2005 dodge 2500 cummins i tried to install the bully dog triple dog today and it said code error 0x7f and now it wont start. bully dog isent open till tommrow any suggestions?

 

the truck won't start now? if that's the case i hope you didn't fry your ECM which has been known to happen

 

Your going to have to wait and call Bully Dog tomorrow and they are going to either walk you through the recovery process or worst case senerio they will have to send you a recovery downloader. The ecm isn't fried so don't worry, but you will have to get in touch with Bully Dog for the fix.

BTW is a new Bully Dog downloader or a used one? It could still be vin locked if its a used one.

 

Red_rattler, It wouldnt even begin the read/erase process if it was vin locked. I dont know if that would explain it not starting. I cant remember what that error code is.

 

If it was still vin locked I was told it would try to overwrite the ecm with the other trucks vin and then the ecm goes into retard mode.

 

If it's vin locked, the programmer wont even try to write. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure
