Default alarm;truck wont start

okay i was driving home yesterday, when my alarm in my truck started to go off. i killed it and checked the hood not really knowing what i was looking for. i tryed to restart it with the alarm still going and now it wont even turn over. so the alarm keeps going off and the truck wont start. i didnt get the keyless entry when i got the truck so i cant just turn it off idk what to do!

Look up underneath the dash and see if you can find the relay bank/computer for the alarm. Pull any of the connections apart to see if it kills the alarm and can restart the truck. Or you can remove both ground cables and wait a couple minutes then hook them back up. Guess the next thing after you get it home is remove the alarm??

Some of the alarms I've worked with cut the wire to the starter and one end goes into the computer and the other comes out of the computer. If you pull the computer out you'll need to reconnect the two ends of the starter wire together. The ones I've seen are yellow.

Hope this helps!

You could also run a hot wire to the starter relay terminal to see if it kicks over that way.

Could be a shot starter relay too. You can jumper across the switched terminals in the relay socket to see if it will turn over. Or I have removed the cover off the back of the relay with a pocket knife and then manually move the switch in the relay to see if the starter engages.
