hey guys need a little help on this one. Not to long ago i had to get my tranny module replaced. The dealer installed and programmed it. A month or two down the road i was towing my boat and put the tow haul mode on and i noticed when i would come to a stop it would jam into first and pretty much lock the damn wheels up. It would only do this in tow mode. Checked with the dealer and they couldn't find any codes and they beleived it to be a clutch in the tranny. Tow haul mode wont even engage or come up on my dash now. any suggestions?

 

How does the transmission perform not in tow haul? If it works flawlessly in normal operation then I would have to suspect a faulty program on the TC for tow/haul.

 

It works with no problems at all when not in tow haul mode. I took it back to the dealer initially to see if they messed up with programming the tranny module and everything checked out normal which i find a little disturbing since this never happened before they replaced the module. any more ideas?

 

How many miles you got on your truck? How much does your boat weigh just out of curiousity?

 

truck has got 147k on it. Boat and trailer may weigh around 6,000lbs. I usually dont use tow haul mode for that kind of load but it wasn't tell then i noticed that problem.

 

Go to another dealer maybe?? If it never did before they replaced the module, might be what the problem is.

 

if the tow haul wont engage it might be the button or that lil wire under the dash broke... but that wouldnt explain the hard down shift into first

 

Yeah, I'd say check the connections, try another dealer. It sounds like something is wrong with the programming. That's very odd. Sorry I can't really offer any better advice.

yea i think thats what im going to have to do. I hate going to dealers. Never can really trust them but i guess thats really the only option. Thank guys!
