Driving normally not towing and I notice my stock trans temp guage flip all the way to red almost instantly, then tow/haul lights blink w/check light on. After driving a bit longer, the guage goes back to normal position and everything back to normal. Anyone have a problem like this? I couldn't find anything like this anywhere. It seems to do this randomly now. Lines are not hot to the touch and fluid good. 125k Could this be a temp sensor and is that an easy replacement if that's what it is. Please help anyone!

 

Sounds like a faulty sensor. Believe you can pick one up at a Ford dealer.

 

Do you know if I have to drop the pan, or is it an easy plug in?

 

Should be threaded in on the side of the transmission, up around the oil cooler lines??
