Exclamation 2001 ctd holly blue psi issues

installed a holly blue on ashleys truck tonight (miss_un_glued on here) its a 2001 auto 4x4 quadcab with a edge juice w/ attitude on it. her lift pump was dead and it was the in the tank kind so i ordered a draw straw II and some fittings and the harness from vulcan and a holly blue and put it all on tonight dropped the tank and put in the straw ran the new fuel line to the back of the fuel filter and used the fittings to hook it up....after the install checked for leaks and all was good so after getting the air out of the system i started it up pressure was at 6psi at idle so i adjusted the regulator all that i could and still get the lock nut on and i got it up to 13psi but it can be sitting there at idle and the pressure will fall down to 7-8psi and then come back up without me hitting the throttle or anything so i took it for a drive and normal driving 50% throttle 10-11psi but at WOT it will pull down to 8psi but then every once in a while i'll hit the throttle to WOT and it'll pull down to 2-3psi whats up with this? i'm getting a new fuel filter tomorrow and trying that but i thought that i'd see what you guys thought since i know several of yall are using the blue pumps

TIA Dustin

There have been a few come out of the box bad. I don't know what kind of regulator your using but could it not be holding steady. There is also supposed to be spring on the Holley that you can lengthen or shorten to adjust the fuel pressure it's sendin. The other thing might be an air leak in your lines between the tank and the LP. This will pull air in and not always leak fuel out, making it hard to track.

seems to run fine other then the pressure being a little flakey. i picked up a new fuel filter today and about the regulator its the one that came with the pump it was susposed to be preset at 14psi but i had to screw the adjuster bolt in as far as i could to get 13psi at idle some guys have told me to take the regulator off so i think i'm gonna bypass it and see what happens

well i put the new filter in and bypassed the regulator and now i've got 15-16psi at idle and 10psi at WOT with the juice on 5x5 so i think i cured it....also figured out that the reason the pressure was fluxuating up and down was because it was so low on fuel because i had ashley run it as low as she could so it would be easier to drop the tank....i figured this out when i was test driving it after bypassing the regulator and was going down a hill when the pressure dropped and the truck died but i think its all fine now so i'm going to close this thred

thanks for the help guys and a big thanks to eric at vulcan performance for hookin me up with the parts i needed to make it work
