7.3 powerstroke 1997. i can fill oil resivior for high pressure pump and it will run until it is empty. it dosen't seem to be refilling. i took oil pan pump off crankshaft and it is in very good condition ,but it didn't drip a singal dorp of oil when removing. i have not had one of these off before but i would expect some oil in pump to leak out upon removal.

If it's running out of oil, it's being pumped else where. Does it smoke like a freight train??

 

i've never heard of a reservoir for the HPOP. i dono where it is if there is one on my truck. i always thought it was the oil pan as that is where all the oil ends up.
