Default no start on dmax this morning

well got the truck bad sat and this morning it would not start. Just had the fass 95 installed and there was fuel at the bleed screw. would not start at 630 930 but did start at 1130 at 1130 it fired right up as if it was running 5 min prior. I don't understand it as the temp was maybe as low as 25 but it was 35 at 930. but did notice a better throttle response. What else could be causing this? when the fass was installed they put in a new stock fuel filter too. Had to drive the truck back home over 30 miles then went to start today... ohh yeah this is on my neighbors 02 has cai, 4" exhaust and edge juice with attitude. Could it be weak glow plugs? they were replaced in june or july and all 8 injectors were done in july... so what could it be?

truck has 75k on it. been serviced regularly. when its above 40 truck starts and runs fine. it will usually start when parked in the garage.

I'd say glow plugs again. If it's still under warranty, have em take a look at it.

thanks going to have to get some more work done. he just spent a ton on it with the fass, amsoil dual bypass, etc. the more I look at my cummins the more I like it. lots less time to work on it..

I read somewhere they have an air intake heater as well. IDK, someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes the 02s do have grid heaters too, might try taking off the edge next time. I know some guys have issues with them on occasionly or the fass since it was just installed and there not a flow though IIRC.

His truck has done this since he moved up here and stock. It did it the week before the fass was put on. the system was primed as we checked that. If he parks it in the garage it starts fine. but he wants to be able to be out hunting or something and not have to worry about it. cold air intake problem in winter?

it sounds like it is either a grid heater or glow plug issue. another thing you might want to check in the ambient air temp sensor to make sure it is reading right it might not to turn the grid heater or glow plugs on.

if it has a grid heater on it take the intake off and click the key on and see if it gets hot.
