Default Edge Attitude Madness

Hey everyone,

Just purchased factory refurbished Edge Attitude 610 Series with Juice for my 2006 Dodge Cummins Mega Cab. Toggled up to Level 3 "Drive," stomped on it at a red light went great till the boost red 40 and the EGT's spiked at 1400 degrees. Stock truck except for the Edge. Drove to work on Level 0 "Stock" and was consistently at 900 degress and 16 pounds of boost on cruise control at 65 mph. That seems very off, I should be able to pass someone on the freeway and not have my boost and EGT alarms go off. Please help.

Edge Juice or EZ raises rail pressure (can lead to cracked injectors), in turn raising exhaust temps. Even with an aftermarket turbo, I hit 1400 real easy, even on level 2. I quit running Edge after I only got 15k mi. on the original set of injectors. Now it could be possible that you harmed the injectors ie. cracked one or slightly washed one enought to where it's dumping more fuel than they should. Keep an eye on the oil level and watch the exhaust next cold start. If you see white smoke and you didn't before, have it looked at.

Thanks for the input, I have only had the programmer for about 20 hours and only ran on level 3 for a bout 10 seconds, rest has been on Level 0. How is my boost pressure so high. Tech at cummins said that my stock 5.9 was shipped from the factory with max boost of 18 psi...and the Edge alerts me everytime I pass someone on the freeway with boost pressures ranging from 20 to 45.

The Edge is acting like a boost fooler (MAP Sensor Connection). Also, the max boost from the factory is 32psi. not 18. Boost is high from excess fuel, probably from an injector or two slightly worn beyond Bosch specs.

Would a cracked injector have anything to do with such high Turbo Boost Levels. I can see high EGTS due to a cracked injector but boost stands alone from fuel correct?

Just turned 35000 miles. Im glad to hear that the stock turbo is 32 and not 18, would it be wise just to baby it until I can have the injectors checked? Im nervous to run it on Level 3 due to the fact that my boost levels and EGTS spike very quickly after acceleration.

A buddy of mine has a 05 with edge hot unlock and his does the same thing 850 to 900 goin 70. When he's pulling he can peg 1650 at the end of the track making 45lbs of boost, I know not good but shes still running strong. I'd say let that truck breath ie: air intake and better flowing exhaust.

Thanks Red Rattler, at what point will the stock injectors and turbo become an issue, should I just run stock settings level 0 until I upgrade the intake and exhaust.

Thanks.

I dunno about injectors, but I'm still on my original set at 99,500 miles and I have Banks and Smarty With rail pressure hitting 28,500psi no problems yet. Thats only at full throttle anyways, otherwise cruising down the road its anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 psi well within the safe limits of the injectors with both tunes running. Stock turbo becomes less efficiant at 42 psi so 45 is within reason but I would not go any higher. You'll be fine running the tune on level 3 until you get more bombs done for air flow. Hope this helps ya.
