Default 97 power stroke not running

alright guys, my uncle stooped yesterday to fill his truck. got in to go and it wouldnt start. i pulled it home last night and got the code reader from work to see what the codes were on it. the code was p0603 internal control module keep alive memory error. does anyone know what this code means and would it not let the truck start. i erased the code to see if that would let it start. and still nothing. he also has a back pressure code that keeps coming up as soon as he starts it but that was doin that before and still ran. any help here guys.

thanks in advance.

really bad to go out on the 7.3s, can sometimes be intermittent and leave you stranded, come back in couple of hours and runs fine, then strands you again b4 you get back home!

Does it have a chip? GPR will not keep it from starting if he just shut it off to get fuel. I have seen many chips take out an IDM. Will the scanner he has read pid's? If so monitor ICP and let us know what it says while cranking. Does it smoke any while cranking or even attempt to start?

well i pulled it to brians truck shop wednesday and they checked it out. tried telling us it was the batteries at first not giving it enough juice. but got them charged up completely and it still wouldnt start. he messed around with it for a lil while and finaly got a computer off a 94 psd and put on it. it fired right up. so he has a new computer on the way. thanks for all the help though guys.
