Can have Checker, Autozone, Napa, or O'Reilleys hook up a scanner and decipher the codes.

BTW, welcome to DB!!!

as long as it is OBD II they should and your truck being a 2000 it is OBDII, just take it to a parts store and have em read the codes for ya and see what it says

First off, Welcome!

As for your codes, just like WildBill said, most of the parts stores will check them for you. Once you have the codes, you can find out what the isue is pretty easily. Dont forget we have a code checker right here https://www.dieselbombers.com/codes.php

Should be a 6.5L if memory serves. Good luck - make sure you let us know what you find.
