Default 2005 dodge cummins long crank rough idle

So just recently , I replaced the front main seal , cam and ran my overhead , so about a week later my high pressure power steering hose went out and I lost my ps and my brakes. I went ahead and tore the front of motor apart to replace the main seal again and do it right , and fix the havac leak where ever it was , so get all that fixed and the nighti finish I'm driving my truck home and it's got its power back , no check engine light (running its best sense I've owned it ) and the serpentine belt basically explodes , so I got towed back to my shop and put new one on in the am , but now when I start it it seems it's taking longer on the crank by about 4 seconds , and idles really rough for about 20-40 seconds , and ideas if it has something to due with my past work or if the fuel filters coincidentally clogged at this time

Hi Icognitojm67,

It's been a while since you posted this but wanted to give some insight if you're still stuck with no ans... You may have a leak, even a small one in your fuel lines before the injector pump. I have a 96 12 valve and I added pre-heater mods to the fuel lines. When a pin hole and I mean tiny to where virtually no fuel leaked out developed at a fitting just before the injector pump, my truck went from instant start in all weather, to having to crank 2-3 seconds or more, and then rough idle for a while. It turns out it was an itty bitty leak at a fitting that was just barely moist from fuel and easy to miss. Once I fixed that, my eng was back to instant starting from cold in any weather and smooth idle even cold. I've read many posts of people with major headaches finding the smallest of leak that was causing the same problem. On the 12 valve, the stock pre-heater next to the lift pump had major flaws and was notorious for tiny leaks that was hard to see/find and many people just pull it for prevention reasons, but your version may no longer have such a preheater. Maybe a fuel line got bumped/knocked loose just a bit, or you had to disconnect some of your fuel lines to tear into it and aren't totally sealed? Just a thought.
