I have a 1989 Ford F250 with a 7.3 IDI, Truck runs great until it gets warmed up then it won't start until I wait a half hour to 45 min. to cool down. The heat gauge stays in the middle range, sometimes are the higher side but not in the hot. Pain in the a** , never know when it will do it. Any ideas?

 

I guess I should add that the truck is stock, got it last month from my niece and it did it with her too. I want to do some work on it so that I can use it to tow my trailer. I volunteer as a campground host for the State parks here so I only tow every 6 months or so. Since I had to trade my Jeep for it, it is now a grocery getter but was mostly parks until now. The original owner was a truck driver and he keep up the motor (nut not everything else). It has 238,000 miles on it.
