Default 2000 7.3 hard start when cold/runs rough

I have a 2000 f250 that has 366,000 on it that is really hard to start when it sits over night and even harder when its cold out. and it white smokes like a mother. After it starts it takes like 20 minutes to clear out and run smooth. Once its running smooth im usually at my destination so i shut it down go do what ever im doing them come back like 2 hours later and the truck will start but run like its missing and has no *****. Ive replaced the Gpr, glow plugs, hpop and IPS all in the last week and I still have problems. My glow plug system checks out fine and my harness through the valve cover gasket is making connection. Any experts out there that can help me out im really frustrated.

Check your oil temp sensor as well. It's what tell the ecu to turn on the glow plugs

When my '97 E350 had its hard-coldstart fits, it white-smoked out my neighbourhood. An Lpop change made no difference. A used superduty hpop (and a new IPR) made the van usable again. Best I can figure the white smoke was from fuel build up in the cylinders (dribbling?) because it had trouble building hpop pressure. (verified with 3500 psi gauge; could have been the IPR's fault too, but this way it got a 17* upgrade instead.)

I also checked the injector o-ings by isolating and capping each head, and pressure tested with a manual port-a-power. No leak down.

Another thing I did was remove the check valves upon installing the HPO lines. Its supposed to balance pressure between the cylinder banks similar to the crossover line mod.

Still not convinced it was the whole issue (sold van). My next step was going to be pulling the timing cover for clues.
